Matt Fiuza is a scenic and production designer, art director, and visual storyteller whose work spans themed entertainment, theatre, live events, broadcast, and immersive experiences. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Matt brings a multicultural perspective and a deep appreciation for storytelling, collaboration, and craft to each project.
He currently serves as a Senior Art Director with Disney Live Entertainment, where he has contributed to a wide range of experiences for Walt Disney World, including projects connected to Disney Villains, Frozen, Finding Nemo, Coco, Toy Story, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. His recent work includes Art Direction for Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, design for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: Fairy Godmother Greeting at Magic Kingdom, and collaboration on Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Matt’s work has reached audiences in more than ten countries across three continents, with credits ranging from theme park productions and Olympic opening ceremonies to theatrical design, broadcast segments, special events, and illustrated storytelling. Prior to Disney, he worked as a Senior Designer for Busch Gardens Tampa, contributing to award-winning live entertainment and seasonal productions.
His work has been recognized by IAAPA, the Kennedy Center Collegiate Theatre Festival, USITT, and Rowan University, where he received the Anne B. Ward Medallion for Creative Excellence. Fluent in English and Portuguese, with proficiency in Spanish and French, Matt values thoughtful collaboration and is passionate about creating environments that support story, elevate character, and connect with audiences.
